At approximately 12:33 hrs, we were dispatched to a reported structure fire with numerous calls. Stony Point FD was also dispatched automatically for their tower. TRT5 was on scene and updated our units responding that we had an active fire on the 1/2 side of the structure and the gas meter was involved. 26-5 requested West Haverstraw FD for their FASTeam to the scene.
26-6 established command and provided a size up. 26-1501 was the first due engine. Being that it was a day time incident and crews were limited, they hit the hydrant and laid into the scene. Once arrived on scene, they stretched a 1 3/4 pre connect and extinguished the exterior portion of the fire.
Crews searched inside the residence and came up with negative results for victims. There was slight extension into the house. The fire was extinguished and the incident was declared under control approximately 45 minutes later. The residents made it out of the home safe with no injuries.
